Structural Steel & Connection Engineering
Eurocode 3 compliant volumetric steel frame engineering, lifting points and seismic nodes.
Concrete Deliverables & Engineering Outputs
Every delivery includes fully coordinated CAD/BIM models, verified calculation sheets and quality acceptance records.
Signed Eurocode Structural Calculation Report
Steel Fabrication Shop Drawings
Crane Lifting & Rigging Diagrams
Inputs Required from Client & Site
Site geotechnical soil bearing capacity, local wind and snow load zones, and total storey count.
Scope Boundaries & Clear Responsibilities
Covers modular steel superstructure statics; ground slab and foundation piles require a local geotechnical engineer.
Detailed Methodology & Execution Scope
Establish the design basis
Engineering starts with the location, proposed use, architectural arrangement and agreed design criteria. Ground and foundation information, environmental actions and the delivery strategy are reviewed with the relevant specialists. Building height and structural arrangement are determined for the project; a universal storey limit is not assumed.
Connect the whole building
The scope may include member design, inter-module connections, stability, anchorage and the transfer of loads to foundations. For apartments, the structural relationship with stair and lift cores, corridors, balconies and other site-built elements needs explicit coordination. Repeated modules still require assessment within the complete building arrangement.
Issue coordinated engineering information
The agreed outputs can include calculations, structural drawings, connection details, support reactions and lifting requirements. Responsibilities for temporary works, installation sequence and independent checks are recorded. Manufacturer documentation supports the local approval process but does not automatically replace the local engineer’s appointment or statutory responsibilities.
Standard 4-Step Delivery Process
All interfaces between engineering, factory line and on-site assembly follow a verified schedule.
Brief & Zoning
Site zoning, dwelling mix and preliminary budget limits defined.
BIM & Eurocode
Eurocode 3 structural frame and LOD 400 MEP coordination completed.
Module Assembly
Climate-controlled production and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
Crane Lift & Sign-Off
Swift crane installation, weather sealing and turnkey handover.
Frequently Asked Questions about this Service
Which engineering codes govern the calculation?
Eurocode 1 (actions), Eurocode 3 (steel), Eurocode 8 (earthquake) and destination national annexes (e.g. DIN, NTC, CTE).
How does volumetric steel behave in seismic zones?
The high ductility of structural steel and the multiple 3D spatial interlocks offer exceptional earthquake safety far superior to reinforced concrete.
How are lifting and crane rigging stresses verified?
Temporary lifting conditions and acceleration forces are verified with 3D finite-element models with dedicated lift lugs.
How is independent structural approval achieved locally?
Calculations are delivered in compliant Eurocode formats ready for direct sign-off by checking engineers (Prüfingenieur, Contrôleur Technique, etc.).
Is there any risk of corrosion to the steel frame?
All structural members are hot-dip galvanized or protected with C3/C4 epoxy-polyurethane coatings inside a dry thermal envelope.
